Confusion Firebrigades
By ChiAn
Five of them, matchbox fireflies made for kids,
Four of them, filter marigolds made for Yeats,
Three of them, insane pendulums made for lids,
Two of them, prudent ambulance made for needs,
One of them, sunken buccaneers made for reeds.
It was a maze of confusion,
As sure as obedience is evidence
Of thought, of wrought, of route,
Notwithstanding the stir of silence,
Would she be busy forever?
It feels as though I'm talking to a wall,
Separating you and I,
One day we will be going different ways,
For we are both stubborn, conflicts aplenty,
You are the oil, I am the wick,
On a shallow bowl I burn, lighting midnight,
You shall keeping me from dying quick,
The flame will be eternal, if hung on the stars,
So I heard the wire say,
For flattery, she shouted in hushed anger,
For she hates such pretensions, such adoration,
Why, nobody knows, only she knows,
What's sweet isn't all sweet,
What's bitter isn't all bitter,
She has tasted the pumpkin dumpling,
Happy for creativity, happy for nativity,
She loves Christmases more than Moon Cake Festivals
Where kids run around with ugly lanterns,
The monkey and chicken killed by a torpedo lizard.
When will you be free? When will you be a tree?
Everyday, I will give you sunshine and rain,
Seven times at the rainbow's end,
Splashed in gold, mountains of them,
In abundance, you will not lack again,
For I will listen, SPEAK, my fifth muse,
Hopefully the last, HELLO!
