In love on one lonely night

                                   May I
                    Be lucky, be enlightened, be murky?
                               As a cricket,
                      Singing a disenchanted lullaby,
                     I'm such a baby in these matters,
                     I don't know how many light years,
                     I'm behind, rubbing a rubber seed,
                        On the tile upon your ankle,
                       Cold and told, bold and gold,
                   Midas on May's toe, yellow and vogue,
                  One hour after midnight, spying chance,
                   The entire block suffered a blackout.

                        It's true! For three hours,
                     I couldn't write, I couldn't type,
               Thinking and thinking, thinking and thinking,
                    Circles of ecstasy engulfing My May
               Thinking and thinking, thinking and thinking,
                   A second stretched, a moment dragged,
                One tagging another, one following another,
              The eternal stream of consciousness evaporating.

                 Beneath the pedestrian Victorian overhead,
               I remembered she is worth more than a Fortune,
                  For to see her dance the song of Orpheus
                     Waiting to wait, waiting to wait,
                   The rings of laughter in my ear drums,
                 Reserved for thunder, preserved for yonder
                The strawberry pasture, lurked a coward sun,
                      Hiding behind the famished moon,
                           she wished, he wished,
                 Fingers on lips, exchanging polar waters,
                        Diamonds on the delta blue,
                They wanted to be stars, brighter than hope,
               Beyond the Milky Way, they wanted to be hung,
              Beside the eye of God, tumbling down the alley,
                     The hurricane Simian wheel spoke,
                           Please light the path,
          For in absolute darkness, the blind shall be victorious,
                     And they shall inherit the earth,
                          The best of their kind.
